Search the
Words of the Bible for in them you will find gems and nuggets
to live by.
“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Colossians 2:3
1. Love is the fabric that never
fades, no matter how often it is washed in the waters of adversity and
grief.
Song of Solomon 8:7a Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods
drown it:
2. The heart of a contented person
is never poor and the heart of a discontented person is never rich.
1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we
can carry nothing out.
3. God
accepts no love that includes Him and excludes our fellowman because love is
the identifying mark of a true Christian…does the world recognize you as
such?
1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar:
for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God
whom he hath not seen?
1John 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God
love his brother also.
4. If
the love of God is in our hearts, we will show it in our lives.
1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue;
but in deed and in truth.
St. John 13:35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye
have love one to another.
5. It
is not until we see ourselves as sinners that we can get a glimpse of the
love of God who sent Christ to die for the best and worst of us!
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and
sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
6.
God’s love is big enough to cover the world and, yet, individual enough so
that the least of us are included.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
7. Love
or “charity” is the greatest force on earth and the prescription for the
good life. – Why then don’t we take it in and give it out?
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but
the greatest of these is charity. |
