1. )    Prayer is not just icing on the cake of a so-called spiritual life; prayer is        warm, close communication with the one and only living God. The question is how often are you communicating with Him?
Psalms 55:17    Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
 

2. )    Aim for a goal and stick to it… the reward is well worth the effort taken to achieve it.
Philippians 3:13     Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
Philippians 3:14    I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

3.)    A good name is better than a houseful of wealth!
Proverbs 22:1    A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

4.)    When God presents you with a challenge, take a leap of faith and meet it head on.
Hebrews 11:30    By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

5. )    True peace reigns in our heart when we can truthfully cry out, “Thy will Lord, not mine, be done.”  This is peace born of the assurance that we are not alone.
John14:27    Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

6. )    Seek first things first and watch God put everything else in the order it should be.
Matthew 6:33    But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

7.)    Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty…so talk less and work more!
Proverbs14:23    In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
