Check Your Joy Level Often

Greetings Everyone!

One of the greatest challenges of Christianity today is to grow old joyfully. It is so easy to become discouraged, troubled, burdened down with loads to care that are not really ours to bear. We are told in scripture to “Cast your cares upon the Lord, for he careth for you.” No one can come to our aid with such compassion, love and power like the Lord Jesus Christ. We must do just as the old hymn says, “Bring your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.” The Psalmist David said that “the joy of the Lord is our strength” and to “Wait upon the Lord, be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart.” Christ will comfort us and turn our burdens into blessings, our valleys into victories as we fully lean on him who is faithful. Once you have left your cares at the altar they are not longer your responsibility. By doing this, we are then able to follow the example of the apostle Paul, who said, “I want to finish my course with joy.” This New Year brings with it a fresh start and a bundle of hope for our lives. Go forward with diligence and allow the Lord to fill your soul with joy unspeakable and His wonderful glory. Check your joy level often and top it off each day with the blessing of spending time in prayer in His presence.
